They Dance in the Air

This edge sewn book of haiku and the accompanying wrap
-around case were made in celebration of my father's 80th birthday. The pages are rendered in ink, transparent watercolor and gouache. 

The text is haiku by Basho, Buson, Chiyo, Issa, Kikaku, Onitsura, Sampu, Shiki, Sokan and Soseki. Several of the opening pages are shown below.
