"A Good Read"

This little painting is from a sketch I did long ago on a trip to the ocean. The model is one of my daughters. I was interested in thick, juicy paint and loose brush strokes. A joy to paint. The sketch is below.

Both the painting and the sketches have a great sense of freedom. Thanks for the comment on my latest post - been so busy I've not even looked at my own site let alone anyone else's. Thanks, Ken. Your window sill in "A Brushy Interlude" is so full of joyous energy. It reminds me why I used to use my watercolors. For now, I am still captivated with the thick, buttery quality of my oils.
